About Us

At This Old Wood we have been dismantling old structures and making things from their parts for nearly 20 years. We had a charming shop in Oak Hill that was built from the bones of a 1930’s dance hall we dismantled in Columbus, TX. We’ve outgrown the space and have moved to Pflugerville (almost) and in progress of building a 7,800 workshop, store, and office.

While we wait for the city to approve us, we are nearly complete with a design center that will help you visualize what you’d like in your home or business. We build traditional interior elements like: fireplace mantles, floating shelves, flooring, accent walls/shiplap, tables, counter-tops, & other furniture. We’ve also built a giant wooden circle chair on the wall, live-size Minecraft boat, treehouse, van conversions and a number of bars and restaurants. If you’re been in Austin for more than 5 minutes, it’s likely you’ve seen our work. We work with the top builders, architects, and designers.

We have been features by several press organizations like Austin Monthly, Tribeza, & Spectrum News as well as assisted on several reality shows like Treehouse Masters, BBQ Brawl, & Tiny House Nation. We also still sell a good bit of wood to contractors and DIYers. Our 10 acre lumber yard is the largest in the Austin area and we build almost exclusively with reclaimed wood, most of which is over 100 years old.

The Process

Sustainability

Go green and put a piece of Texas history in your home or business! We have over 10,000 square feet of reclaimed wood available in varying widths, lengths and grades. By using our reclaimed wood, you can collect points that count toward rebates from the City of Austin, or even obtain a Sustainable Forest Initiative Certificate. We have a large selection, so there is enough sustainable, reclaimed wood for everyone!
